You can decide whether to make the documents created by Sufio accessible online.
The online view allows customers to conveniently download or print the document. Additionally, if an order wasn't paid during checkout, customers can pay their invoice online with a credit card.
This choice typically depends on your workflow and personal preferences, or whether you want your customers to be able to display documents using a link in an email, or on your store’s Customer account page or Thank you page.
You might use Sufio to send documents exclusively as PDF attachments in emails. However, if you're using Shopify's order confirmation emails or a third-party application, such as Omnisend or Klaviyo, to send links to invoices, you'll need to enable online documents.
Caution
Disabling online documents will break links to invoices used in all emails, customer accounts, and integrations with popular email apps like Klaviyo and Omnisend.
If you use Sufio to send emails with documents, make sure you edit your email templates and remove links to online documents before disabling this feature.
To disable online documents and only keep sending documents as PDFs:
- In your Sufio account, go to the Settings → Documents page.
- Scroll down to the Advanced options section and expand Online documents.
- Turn the Enable online documents toggle off.
- Click on the Update settings button at the top of the page to apply the changes.
- Make sure you edit your email templates and remove the links to online documents.
Caution
This setting change will also apply to previously created documents.
Online documents are accessed via anonymized links. Each link is secured with a unique identifier and an additional security token, ensuring that only the intended recipient can open the document. This also prevents the recipient from accessing any other documents from Sufio.
For enhanced security and privacy, these pages do not contain any tracking scripts used by marketing tools.
Additionally, online documents are not indexed by search engines like Google, so they cannot be discovered accidentally.
