Independence Day

Independence Day marks the date back on the Fourth of July in 1776 when Americans broke away from being ruled by the British—and many see it as the day America was born.

It is one of the biggest holidays in the US, with most people given the day off work to celebrate. There are plenty of parades and firework displays in the evening.

Research shows that Americans spend close to $7 billion preparing for the big day, especially on food, drink, and picnic items—making it an important marketing opportunity for store owners.

Stores can feature red, white, and blue products—or items with stars and stripes, which look effective, while brands can take the opportunity to boast about anything made in America.

For other merchants, you can get patriotic with email campaigns that set off fireworks (not literally) in customers' inboxes with special discount codes and offers.
