Free Shipping Day
With 55% of online shoppers citing free shipping as the most important checkout option, could there be a better holiday day for the retail calendar than Free Shipping Day?
It's an excellent opportunity to entice shoppers and an even better way for your customers to avoid busy stores and expensive shipping fees—just in time for Christmas. Best of all, retailers who participate in Free Shipping Day promise to deliver their products by Christmas Eve.
The concept was thought up by entrepreneur Luke Knowles, founder of Fort Collins, who noticed the shift towards the trend a few years back.
People seemingly loved the one-day event so much they spent more on Free Shipping Day in 2018 than Black Friday in the same year, with sales totaling $942 million, according to the online data tracking firm Comscore.
So long as you can make the by-Christmas-Eve deadline, ecommerce merchants should definitely consider getting on board with Free Shipping Day—and make sure you shout about it, so your customers know too.
