Bastille Day

Bastille Day is a national holiday in France which celebrates the actions of a group of revolutionaries who were tired of the rule of their king and stormed Bastille prison to get weapons and free prisoners in 1789.

The events marked the start of the French Revolution and shaped present-day France with its ideals of liberté, égalité, fraternité—or liberty, equality, and fraternity.

Celebrations include Europe’s oldest military parade on Paris’s iconic Champs-Elysees, plenty of tricolor flags, and people singing “La Marseillaise.” But it’s not just France that marks the occasion—countries all around the world will host events, including Canada, South Africa, and the US.

It can be a great marketing opportunity to engage with customers, whether that’s promoting the friendly message of the French revolution with discount codes, free shipping, or sales.
